3 Judgement and Mercy

The ultimate display of mercy that Jesus showed was not taking matters into his own hands.

Romans 2
3 But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God?
4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Judgment from God? I think not.  It is the judgment of our own eyes (our own understanding) that we must violently guard against.  We are all sinners (equally) in the kingdom of God, and therefore should not be passing judgement on others as to how they “used to live in the darkness”, submitting the power of the air (Satan) when we lived in our former lives. In Christ, our paths are made straight.......because we have been placed on “a level playing field”, the only expectation is that we live like Christ :) It’s a good thing we have a helper, the Holy Spirit.

HOW TO APPLY MERCY.......

RELIANCE UPON THE JUDGMENTS OR THE EMOTIONAL DISCERNMENT OF GOD AS HE HELPS YOU APPLY THE HEALING BALM OF GILEAD TO EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE.

WISE JUDGMENT IS ROOTED IN LOVE, AS DISPLAYED BY OUR FATHER'S PURSUIT OF A BLAMELESS BRIDE FOR HIS BELOVED SON.

Being merciful is more about vision and the movements of our hearts than it is about feeling “pity”.  “Pity” is not highly thought of in some circles. It’s an interesting feeling.  It's natural for us to shy away from someone who is truly in pain...... right before our eyes.......We usually turn away, especially if we are too close someone, or near the actual wound.  This is most easily thought of in terms of physical pain.  However, it is far more difficult to see spiritual pain.

It’s important to identify that pain is a natural reaction to an injury. It is meant, in physical terms at least, to cause us to preserve ourselves by shying away from re-injuring the wound.  The Holy Spirit is an expert at identifying the injury behind our pain and will give a Christ-Follower insight into how to share that to those that are suffering. This ever changes more and more into the image of Christ (the beloved Son of His Father’s Love and Bridegroom to His Church). This is a mystery.

pit·y  [pit-ee]  Show IPA noun, plural pit·ies, verb, pit·ied,pit·y·ing.
noun1. sympathetic or kindly sorrow evoked by the suffering, distress,or misfortune of another, often leading one to give relief or aidor to show mercy: to feel pity for astarving child.2.a cause or reason for pity, sorrow, or regret: What a pity youcould not go!verb (used with object)3.to feel pity or compassion for; be sorry for; commiserate with.verb (used without object)4.to have compassion; feel pity.

Having access to your full spectrum of emotions is essential to properly interact with the Holy Spirit and deploying compassion as tool for the acquisition of souls into the kingdom of God.  Your craft will involve systematically disabling non-believer’s defenses via the Holy Spirit, so the healing balm of Gilead can be applied to their stone hearts, transforming them into vessels of flesh, and offered up on the altar of God, as a living sacrifice.  THERE WILL BE PAIN AND TEARS.  Things will be said, but we must rely on God’s emotions.....(we know what they would be because we have the Holy Spirit, the Might Counselor, present at all times, constantly molding our hearts and desires so as to model our Father’s heart to those still suffering (AA reference anyone?)
